General features

TpaCAD is Tpa’s CAD/CAM programming system for Microsoft Windows environments. It can interface with 3 or 5-axis CNC machining centres. TpaCAD can be used to work with several types of materials, such as wood, marble, metal, glass, and plastics. The strong suit of TpaCAD is offering in a single environment the high performance of a graphic editor and the excellent dedicated functions typical of a CAD software.

TpaCAD is available in two versions: Basic, Professional.

TCN and generic formats

The original format of TpaCAD is TCN, created to meet specific needs in panel programming. A file may contain different types of technological data on the workings that the machine is to execute. TCN today is a vastly common format in the furniture field, and it is exported by the larger part of programs used in woodworking.

Additionally, TpaCAD can import and export two formats that are two standards in the CAD/CAM world: DXF and G-code (ISO). Both importing and exporting can be extensively configured, so that the production is more efficient, as direct handling of the individual files is minimized or eliminated.

MPR importer

MPR is the format that Homag machines – leaders in furniture CNC – use to program pieces.

TpaCAD offers the option to import from MPR for those users who decide to buy machines with a Tpa system. This option allows you to start producing with the new machine using your current file archives, files that can also be modified, if needed.
